Additional notes: | Purple Emperor watchers usually head for the track between Blonks Farm and Countryman’s lane (TQ134193 and TQ141213). |
Getting there: | The Knepp Estate lies to the south of Southwater and to the west of the A24. There is a small car park in Shipley village, near the windmill at TQ143219. To accommodate visitors for the Purple Emperor season the Knepp Estate open a temporary car park for which they charge a fee. See their website for details. |
