I was taken on a trip to Kingley Vale by my good friends Anna, Rachel and Olga. For which much thanks and the weather was warm, sunny but breezy. Highlight was a second brood
White Admiral not far past the reserve gate. Splendid! My first ever second brood of this charismatic species. Also present were modest numbers of
Brown Argus,
Clouded Yellow,
Common Blue,
Holly Blue,
Speckled Wood,
Red Admiral,
Small Heath,
Meadow Brown,
Green-veined White,
Large White,
Small White and 4
Humming-bird Hawk-moth. The ancient Yew trees are always breathtaking as is the view from The Devil's Humps.
