I think we have had more Painted Ladies in Sussex, in any year, since the "monster invasion" of 2009. This year, certainly in the tens of thousands, and my personal view is the low hundreds of thousands ( but not the millions we had in 2009). Today, a British-born Painted Lady in my garden wildflower meadows. Probably 24 hours old, but no more. Lovely! Also, and a much more difficult photo to achieve, a very early male Pantaloon Bee. As it is already "bleached" it is clearly not brand new. Just look at the beauty of the Greater Knapweed. Awesome!!
